I did pull the impeller plate. No pieces in there. It is done now, and I tested it in a barrel and it seems fine. It 'pees' very strong now, and almost immediately after starting motor, whereas before it was several seconds before the stream started. Shifts fine. I'll be taking it to the lake soon and give it go. I have a little stream flowing out of the weep hole on the front of the lower unit, which I think is normal. Other than that, I think she's good.
