1988 searay Seville cuddy cabin. Is it a good boat?

I cut a small square in transom and of course the wood falls out by just poking it.

I almost got all the leftover wood off transom. Luckily this transom is in three pieces the two on the side are not connected to center. The sides are in good condition because searay enclosed them. Does anyone know what the thickness of the transom should be? I believe it is two pieces of half inch plywood glued together.

2.0 to 2.125" total thickness. The wood is 2 pieces of 3/4".

However i suggest you do some test drills into the stringers. I guarantee you will find more rot. You will also find the flotation foam is saturated with water

How 'bout them stringers? How far forward has any nastiness gone?

Looking good. Good luck! I did a 1986 ten years ago. It came out real nice. Wish I still had that boat.
