Hey guys after 3 water pick up pumps and many hours researching I have narrowed this down to an exhaust exit issue. Bought this boat last year it never pumped water great and just got worst as time went on. I checked all water paths for restrictions numerous time always finding nothing wrong would pull hose coming right from transom and would have very little to no water pumping out of that hose and if it was pumping it looked like it was full of air bubbles..so never thought about exhaust as water would never make it that far anyways....untill I found somthing online about exhaust gas exiting to close to water pick up for what ever reason .....said bad seals... but not sure i understand what seal ....anyway put another new impeller kit in tonight and thought im gonna losen the rubber boot that conects my riser to exhaust so exhaust would exit before it went to lower unit unhooked my transom hose and fired up boat never had it pump so good hooked exhaust back up and starts pumping ****ty air bubbles surging water flow ect so anyone every run into this before ????i am pulling boat tommorow to have a better look to see . exhaust bellow is new as i did some gear replacement over winter..there has to be a promblem where exhaust is blowing water away from being sucked up properly....anyway i will post back any findings but I am glad i figured out how to get it pumping as i was sick of looking for kinked hoses cracked water ports ext it drove me nuts now i just need to know what to do about this exhaust issue my rant is done it was the most success I had in a long time with this ongoing water pumping issue.
