Re: 1988 Mercury 150 hp xr4 blackmax
Ok Dukedog here we go. Checked fuel pump again and getting plenty of fuel. I could crank motor with carb cleaner and the it dies. So I started looking at carbs again after rebuild and this is what I found. Gas in the bowl on one side of carb, but dry in the other side and the same on all three. I took them down and reset floats on each one and it remedy the problem, but I also think the jet was stuck on the upper carb not allowing gas to enter the other two carbs. So it cranks and runs beautifully on its own now. Don't know when I can get to lake again to put a load on it, maybe this weekend. It has cranked beautifully at the house before and still fail at the lake with torque on it, so we will see. Just maybe I can take faztbullets advice and, "trim it out for a change. Have a nice day to all
