I wanted to post another update. Put the heads back on, turned the key and the buzzer went off right away, a couple more times KOEO and it stopped. Don’t know if that’s how it’s set up or not. Anyways ran the boat and after about 5 minutes a solid buzzzzzzzzzzzzer going off. Shut it down just about burnt my hand on either head. So the heads weren’t the issue. Removed the thermostats(what a PITA) re assembled no more over heating ran for about 20 min heads never got above 70*. So i ordered new thermostats and gaskets I assume that’ll fix my issue. The old thermostats I could not compress the springs by hand. One I was able to after some tough squeezing and then it stuck open. I’m willing to bet the thermostats we’re stuck closed and the alarm is working as it’s supposed to.

The deposits you see may be mud wasp nests after that long storage. But you need to change out the impeller if you haven't done that -- also suffers from extended storage.

Post a picture of the thermostat spring that you could not compress.----Or was it a spring by itself about 2 or 3 " long ?

The little spring inside the thermostat. One I couldn’t get it to move at all. The other one I was able to.
