Hello,
I just bought my new USED 1988 Glasstream. The title says it is 16 foot-10 inches.
Any body know how to docode/decipher the hull number?
It came with a Escort trailer.
I originally posted the engine as being a Mercury 140 HP Inline 6...
After a couple of more knowledgable friends have looked at it, we have concluded that it is a sort of "Frankenstein"... The powerhead looks to be a Mariner 115 HP Inline 6, with the shaft from a 140 and the lower unit looks to be adapted from a larger, maybe 150-200 HP engine...Go Figure?
I picked it up at a real good price and I am just starting to go through it.
The motor runs great and basically just needs maintenance.
The trailer is in almost perfect condition, just need to hook up the lights.
The hull is a bit rough around the edges, but I have already got most of the wiring straightened out. Got the helm operating properly [gauges, switches, lights, pumps, etc.]. Just need to plug a bunch of un-needed holes, and re-paint the upper deck and add some seat cushions.
Since the first time I posted this, the unneeded hull holes have been plugged, I found a bit of wood rot in a few spots, but nothing that should keep it from fishing, and all in all a pretty stought package. Still need to repair a few things and eventually purchase or have made, some riding seats/cushions.
Been taking some pics and will post when finished.
Look out fish!
Thanks,gt.
