I have a 1988 force 85 that ran fine the begining of the season. I changed the fuel diaphram as a preventive maintanance. Immediately after doing so cylinder 1 started to misfire and gas started pouring out of cylinder 1's carb. I took the new diaphram out and replaced it with the old one. I still have the same problem. I ordered carb kits through i boats (which ended up being the wrong ones) the bowl gaskets were right so i replaced the gaskets for cylinder 1. fuel is spraying out of the jet and seeping out of the bowl when i pump the primer bulb. the motor wrongs but has a intermittent skip. I have checked the timing several times. I am running out of ideas and would appreciate some input. thanks.

Carb float level or stuck needle valve, time to clean and reset float level.

When it comes to carb kits, nothing beats an oem kit from Mercury.
THe one size fits all kits with all the extra parts and wrong parts, are just a waste of time.
