My force 50 is running on only one cylinder. There is no spark on the top plug. I have checked the plug and coil by changing them with the bottom ones. The coil and plug are both good. I rewired the top coil to the position of the bottom one and vice-versa and also individually and only when there wired for the bottom position does it have spark. The top cylinder is the one with the issue. Not getting any spark. Can anyone tell me what is the possible part that could be causing this? Or any info at all

Thank You

Re: 1988 Force 50 spark issue?

Just went through this w/ my 50hp. I don't happen to have a DVA meter to properly test the electrics. Both my coils were good too. (checked them the same way you did). I took mine to a local marina and had them do the diagnostics for me. It was found to be a bad CDI. While this may or may not be the issue with yours I reccommend getting it tested professionally or do it thoroughly yourself if you have the proper equip. and manual. I don't reccommend however just replacing stuff as it will run you $$$$.
