1988 evinrude 40 hp fuel pump conversion

I have a VRO equiped engine and am having issues with it, so would I'd like to replace the vro fuel pump with a non vro pump. Does anyone know what fuel pump or conversion kit to get?

Look on the port side of the block and see if you have #107, if so all you have to do is remove the plug and install a pulse type pump.

Here is the fuel pump for your engine, mount it and plumb in the fuel lines.

You will have to remove the VRO pump and all associated wiring and plumbing.

I don't see a #107 stamped anywhere!

Look for the screw that is labeled 107 on the diagram here: http://www.ishopmarine.com/ishop/jsp...pCode=C0211234
The screw blocks off the vacuum port that drives the fuel pump. Remove the screw and bolt on the new pump.
