Can someone please share with me ? I need to adjust my trim on my Evinrude 1988 110 HP. It is on a stand not on a boat. I read in my manual how to adjust the tilt manually but it does not mention how to adjust the trim. Heres the problem. Project engine I work on when I have time. Both trim/ tilt relays are broken from engine having been mishandled. I read about the emergency method of how to tilt the engine in case of electrical power failure(dead battery ect) and have turned the screw to accomplish this. Problem is the trim as it now sits is incorrect. I am afraid this will affect the carb floats when I start the motor. I would like to get the motor in a staight up position when I fire it up. Can any person tell me the trick to doing so. Are there wires which can be crossed to accomplish this or it a matter of a hydraulic release I am unaware of. I will of course replace the trim/tilt solenoids at a later time but I choose to get the motor running first. Thank You.
