Well, i just bought this boat this afternoon knowing it needed work. It has an OMC king cobra drive line with a 460. I already know everything about it and don't mind the BBF or the outdrive. So please keep that discussion to a minimum. So i pulled the entire interior, going to drop it off to get recover, how ever the drop down bolsters are shot. Looking for a decent pair, all that has to work are the drop down and have good wood!

So heres my issue, i have to replace the floor.....

Yeah i know, i never did this before however i am handy and work on cars for a hobby. So the stingers are in good shape, i already started to cut the floor out. Does anyone know any good how to threads or websites to follow?

As for the motor it was just rebuilt with a new block, the drive was just service as well. New steering cables and updated throttle drive cables (red). So i just need the floor and bolsters done...

Pictures are attached to see me new baby!!,

[h=3]How To's and Other Great Information[/h]Lots of good info there ^^^

Read thru some threads in the resto section, helpful info all over the place

Welcome to iboats dry dock

Sleek looking dominator, did the transom get redone when the block was replaced?

Not familiar w/ how your boat was built, but are the stringers fiberglass over a wood core? If so did you core drill them to confirm they are solid? Same w/ the motor mounts, that 460's a whole lot of motor....

Fiberglass can appear to be sound, and have underlying wood that isn't........

Hello,
thanks for the input, the motor mounts when removed where dry holes. the wood was solid! the transom got all new seals and was checked out. it also has new u-joints in the shaft as well. i havent gotten the entire floor out yet to see the full lenght of the stingers. they are fiberglass wrapped stingers. I will drill a hole to see if its still good once the entire floor is out. I am really hating the fact I have to redo the cuddy area....
