Hello iboaters,
I am new to this site and this is my very first post!!!! yeah!!!!! I have a 1988 bayliner 1950 that I purchased and it has turned into quite a project... Overly long story but I have had to pull the engine because the block was cracked and the floor was garbage. I've got the upholstery redone and slowly but surely am getting her done.... Here is my question... Bayliner glasses in their back to back seat boxes and in my case they didn't make it out in one piece... :( Since I already have the seats done and reupholstered I can't just buy the whole seat assembly. I am wondering where on earth can I get just the boxes???? Or is there specs that I can follow to build some??? I didn't take any measurements so I may be screwed :) Any help would be wonderful!!!! Thanks Ryan

I have a 1991 2050. I can measure my boxes and let you know what they are, but it won't be until later this evening.

I had the same problem. Mine were cut out before I laid eyes on her. I had several people take measurements but they did not match my seats. i did not wish to have the fold down feature so I mounted mine solid. If you have your seats done Close them up like you are going to sit in them on the floor Measure the length. Now mock them up in the boat. Do you have clearance at the side? This will be your width. Now see how comfortable you are at the wheel. Can you see over the nose? Make that your height. I can measure mine they are for a 1988 1952 cuddy but were made to my specs. Here is a link to the measurements given to me.

Thanks that looks pretty darn close... I'm not sure but I think I'm not going to foam underneath the seat bases like the factory did and use this space for storage.... Do you think this is doable??

I wish I had left mine open. I sealed them in. I also kept that nasty foam out of my baby. I lake boat. I can see the shore on both sides. And she will never see the ocean. With that in mind Foam isnt a bad thing if you run the risk of swamping it in big water.

Yes that is what I was thinking.... Mine will never see the ocean either.... I will probably foam under the floor but other than that the rest is not going back in...... If it sinks she will swim with the fishes for good lol

Tennessee Valley Authority will fine a person big time if they try to leave their boat in the water after a submersion. My 1975 Sidewinder never had foam so I just thought why would I want to do this one. I built my rear engine compartments air tight. My floor is compartmentalized. Drains at lowest level leading to bilge. 2 950 gallon pumps in the rear. If she sinks I will have to have busted the bottom out.

Sorry it took a while. Width outside is 13 1/4" inside is 10 1/2". Length outside is 42 1/4" and inside is 40 7/8". I've been in class all weekend and when I haven't been there, I've been working on the boat!
