Ok so I have never owned a boat but have always wanted one but with cash kina short it was always a "next year" thing. Well last week I came across somebody I knew looking to get rid of a project that they no longer had time for. I did some talking and traded a gun that I paid 75 bucks for and took er home. From what I understand The motor and outdrive are great. I haven't personally started it yet but after looking at everything I have no reason to believe otherwise. It may need some carb work from sitting up but no water in the oil or anything like that. Transom seems to be in good shape also. Now for the bad...... floor was rotted to previous owner pulled it and the seats out but never really got past that. It was sitting outside for a few months and is holding about an inch of water in a few spots now. gonna get that worked out this weekend and maybe pull some of the foam out. Looking through some of the threads here has really given me some ideas on where to start with everything. Like I said though cash is short so it probably wont see water til next year but I got the boat more for the project aspect of it than anything.

Ill post some pictures this evening.

If cash is an issue you may be in for a long haul. A typical total rebuild, and that's what this boat is going to need, will usually run about $2,000 dollars and about 200 hrs of work IF the motor needs only a basic tune up. A couple hundred bucks at a time will get you going but having the "stick to it tiveness" ove the long haul has been a big problem for a lot of guys with thin wallets. I'm not in any way trying to discourage you but only wanting to make you aware of the costs and time involved in a project of this magnitude.

Yeah I was figuring a few hundred at a time... haven't ever really ventured on a project so im not sure how the "stick-to-it-ness" will go lol. The most expensive one piece items im thinking will be the throttle lever system (not sure what official boat term for it is) and the paint/gelcoat I figure I can do the rest little by little

I'm bettin the stringers, deck, and transom will all need to be replace and reglassed. if so this will be your biggest expense. Resin and glass and supplies will be close to $1,000.

OK took me a min but I got it figured out. Im thinking that the transom may be good.... not so sure about stringers tho. There are a few holes in the transom for hardware like for the swimdeck and looking in those everything seems to be ok.

Ok update ... I haven't been on here in a while... haven't had much of a chance to work on the boat other than messing with ripping out foam for an hour or two. As I was ripping out foam I noticed that there is a board of sorts that runs straight up the keel of the boat the fiberglass work was pretty shotty on it in the beginning so it wasn't water tight by any means.... I started chipping away glass to find very little of what looked like it used to be wood. Im hoping that this shouldn't be a big deal since I plan on ripping all the stringers out and replacing them anyways

What motor/drive does this thing have? Is the windshield intact?

It has a 4.3 mercruiser and an alpha one outdrive.... the windshield is intact as appears to be most of the trim pieces. :D I will upload more pictures this weekend hopefully. Looks like I might actually get a chance to work on it this weekend to!

In the second from the bottom pic you can see the "quality" of the original fiberglass work.
