When just idling around or staying under 3,000 rpm's the temp gauge goes up to almost 220 when you open it up to full throttle it will come back down to 145 and stay there as long as you stay at 3000 rpm or above.
This is my first experience with a boat so any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance !!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like your due an impeller or possible blockage in the water line.At speed the water is
forced through.Get it serviced or you will destroy the best motor ever built..(same as mine). If you ever get a chance, post a pic so I can see the decal colour on the cowl.Mine is all faded and I want to order correct ones.
Good Luck.

Might as well test or replace the thermostats and poppit valve, while at it.
