There is an excellent post over on the Mercury board that details how to link and sync a Merc inline. Is there a similar post that anyone is aware of that provides the same info for my 1988 Johnson 110?
Im in the process of obtaining a factory manual but untill it arrives I would like to get started by verifying the settings. The motor is new to me and the previous owner screwed around with a few things and ended up with a motor that wouldnt even run! So far I have found that the top carb was on the bottom and vice versa and that the fuel line and fuel pump pulse lines were reversed. The motor runs fairly well now but when accellerating from idle to high speed (hole shot) it sometimes misfires for a few seconds.
Im a little dissapointed with the hole shot performance (even when it doesnt do the misfire thing) and Im hoping that the link and sync will improve things a little.
BTW carbs have been cleaned well.
