1987 yamaha 115

I might be getting a boat with one of these on it. Any thing I should look for specifically? Any problem areas?

if its ever been in saltwater carefully inspect the shift shaft.

Is this something that is easily replaced? Its spent most of its life in the salt and will continue to do so.

Also is there is a particular area to check, I am assuming it'll just be an exposed rod heading from up near the powerhead to the lower unit just like on my 1976 mercury?
