I would start with pulling the flame arrester, and checking for fuel. If thats good, then check for spark from coil. I use a spark gauge, that is adjustable to test spark strength. If that checks out test for spark at each plug(or visual on the cap and rotor). If all that checks out, compression test.

I got a spark tester today. I hooked the wire running from the coil to the distributor cap to it and turned the power on, and got no spark. I then tried to crank it, and got no spark. This is my first time using one of these so I may be using it wrong, but as far as I could tell Im not getting a spark

You remove the center wire out of the distributor cap (NOT the coil), then hook the wire to your spark tester, and ground the other end of the spark tester.
Might post a picture of your spark tester so we know what your working with.

You have it clipped to paint, you need to clip it to bare metal.

I cant find bare metal close enough for the cord to reach. Can I file some paint off where it is clipped?
