My original cork swing arm sending unit went bad and I purchased a new style unit. After making sure everything works as it should, when I turn it on the gauge pegs out hard past full. Anybody know what ohms setting this fuel gauge is set on ( 0-190) or ( 33-240).

Usually the latter ohm setting is standard. Why not measure the resistance of the sending unit?

The old sending unit completely died and not getting any readings. I am wondering what setting the fuel gauge would be on..

Gee, measure the new sending unit. The old one is history, no?
the new unit is 33-240ohms and the old one is dead. Trying to determine what the fuel gauge was set up for back in 1987 for my model boat.

If the fuel gauge is standard, it should be set for the new sender. They also do not last forever.
