1987 Johnson Primer Solenoid

I started the engine a few days ago, then serviced the water pump....now when i try to start it the normal click one hear when the key/ignition is pushed in.....I do not hear. upon a closer inspection I came across this red valve handle attached to a part labels 397909(Primer solenoid)....well with putting the small screw onto the shift arm I think I might have moved it. Motor does not start now....I don't think it is getting fuel not hearing any type of combustion going on.

Are other options than replacement of solenoid?

The red handle on the primer solenoid should be aligned with the cylindrical base.
