1987 Johnson 110 WOT RPM?

Hi Guys, I just bought an 87 Senza 165 with a 110 Johnson on it. Kick *** boat btw. Right now at WOT it is reving at about 6200 RPM which seems a bit high to me. What is the max WOT RPM for this engine?

Double check it with another tach before making any decisions. I the meantime keep it down a little till you know for sure. I don't know the official WOT range on that motor . I am guessing at 5,000 to 6,000

5500 is top, 4500-5500 hp rated at 5000.

5800 seems to be the sweet spot for these motors even though 5500 is the recommended WOT RPM. 6200 is twisting it a little tight.

So what size prop should I use? I have two that came with the boat. I'll try to read the numbers off them. The one is a larger diameter but they both reved about the same.

Look at your tach first. Make sure it's an OMC or BRP tach and it's set on position 6.
