I brought it in for repair not because it was over heating but for the reason it would not power up. It would take 30 - 45 seconds to get up on plane. I thought it was a fuel problem so I installed a water fuel seperator. Since than I have had both fuel pumps and filters replaced. The impellar and water pump a new water tube because the guy broke the original one. New themistats new plug wires. I dumped $1500.00 into this motor. Got it back yesterday and it over heats. There is water coming out of the hole but it is not warm its plane cold water. I really do not want to bring it back to the same guy if he does not know what the heck he is doing. I have checked each cylinder and I get 120 psi in each. I had new reed valves put in last year and it has been running fine until the last month. The water should be luke warm out of the hole correct? He did have to pull the power head to get the broken water tube out. I do not know that much about out boards but I think I could have done what this guy did. Could the impellar be in wrong? You would think a baot mechanic would know what the problem is.
