Hello everyone. I am having several issue with my boat. This are the specifics of my boat before proceeding with details

19.5 cabin cruiser
I/O mercruiser 200 series engine
Bellow Brand New
Outboard is fully set with new propeller and oil
My transom cable all been replaced

Here is the issue:
Boat was not winterized and has been kept in the drive way for the entire year

When I went to try and start it there was no electricity going to the front cabin
Not even the radio turned on.
Checked all the fuses and they are ok.
Charged the battery
No engine sounds nothing.

I also checked the motor and seems rusted no on the top.

Around how much can I get a new motor with everything for this boat used or rebuilt?

Being it is a 1987 is it worth it or should I just buy another boat. The Hull is in perfect condition and the seats of course given the age should be replaced. I love the boat but not sure it is going to cost me a lot of money to invest on it.

Thank you

Check the main fuse and the connections leading to the slave solenoid and the starter.

Do the batteries hold a charge? Do the cabin lights and any other electronics work now that the battery is charged? What voltage are you seeing on the battery?

what does "rusted on the top" mean?

If you want to get rid of the boat, you might have a better time of it with it able to run, etc.

Not winterized, as in the water wasn't drained out of the block?
If this is so, it's almost certain the engine and manifolds froze to death over a CT winter.

Check the sides or the block, and manifolds for cracks. If you find any, it's obviously a problem.

Yes the boat was not winterized. I know for a fact I need new manifolds. In regards to the blocks, they were inspected but no cracks.
When I say rusted, I mean on the top there is a rust area and on the alternator the spinner wheel rustet. The battery is fully charged. There are no lights in the cabin. Not even the horn is working. I been trying to search for this main fuse and unable to find it. I was told there could be a panel fuse. The cables the the solenoid and the starter all have power.

Does anyone know of a good mechanic in CT that does side jobs which can take a look ?

Thank you all for you answers.

follow the wires from the battery back to the controls, check for loose connections, corroded connections, etc.

You can't always see whats cracked, as allot of times they split on the inside, and will allow water into the oil.

When I say rusted, I mean on the top there is a rust area and on the alternator the spinner wheel rustet.
Surface rust on the exterior of the engine doesn't much matter too much.

The battery is fully charged.

How do you know? Was it load tested?
FYI,Voltage means nothing (it's all about amperage), and an automatic battery charger telling you the battery is charged is often wrong when that battery has sulfated from extended periods of being dead.

The cables the the solenoid and the starter all have power.

Again, voltage means nothing. You can whittle the battery cable down to a single strand, and still have full battery voltage from one end to the other. It's amperage that counts. If any of the connections have corrosion, or are loose, they may impede the ability of the wiring to carry all the required amperage.

Nope, but if you find one, have him pressure test the cooling jackets of the block (first things first) to see if the block has split up internally.

Thank you guys. I am trying to find a mechanice to come over to check my amperage.
