If number #32 is a standard screw that is labeled vent, or next to the one labeled vent, we removed it.
#32 is the shift pivot pin and is further down on the bullet shaped part of the LU and is in a recessed hole......removing it won't damage anything but could require complete disassembly of the LU to get the gear shift arm #45 back in place (after it falls out of place after removing #32). There have been a lot of folks who mistakenly removed the shift pivot pin thinking it was the drain plug.......

found the #44 allen, and yes it strips easy. My son was on the wrench. Any suggestions?
Could try a small screw extractor (easy out).......might have to drill it out a little bit.....New plugs are available....Part#

Easy out(Topgun) the plug is small and you might have to drill through it to install the tool.
Once the tool is installed, use a propane torch to heat the boss around the plug. That should make it easier to come out.

#32 is not labeled with the word "vent" nor is the one beside it.
#32 is the shift-pin bolt that is near the bottom on the side.
To fill; remove the two cap-bolts near top they have either gaskets or O-rings on them

Got the drain plug out. Put in a new impeller. Motor starting right up. Not seeing any water coming out of my exhaust port. Any thoughts?

Is the key on the shaft?
P/U-tube inside pump-housing?
Lower-unit deep enough in water?

key and p/u tube are good. Only ran it for about 20 seconds - see that the water might take longer to cycle than that. I'm used to Jet ski motors.

Motor is idling. Puts some square muffs on it. First time. Supposed to work on this motor. Water squirting out on the sides. None coming out with the exhaust.

Don't use the square muffs. I ran into this issue when I first got my Force.

Get the old less expensive circle muffs.

Mine didn't pee on the squares and I thought I had an impeller issue, it was just the square muffs don't suck tight to the lower unit.

or run it in a barrel
