I have a Force 125 which I have owned for 20 years. It has been running great but I recently ran into fuel problems after refueling (found out it was unposted ethanol). It stopped running almost immediately and would only start after choking and smoked (white) horribly. I switched over to my reserve tank which I did not add to and it ran ok. I have never used ethanol and try to use 89 octane. Now it clouds the dock with white smoke when I idle but will reach top end. I have cleaned out the tank and changed plugs and fuel filters. I'm thinking carb rebuild but in the interim, is there a way to clean the carb? I understand from reading that blending ethanol, reg gas and moisture can produce some kind of gunk.

Thanks

If you have "the gunk", you will need to rebuild the carbs, and possibly the fuel pump, and flush the fuel lines.

Then add Seafoam to every tank of fuel you use. It will keep the system clean.

Been running ethanol fuel here for years, and have managed to keep my fuel systems clean.
