1987 force 125 compression issues

I have an 87 Force 125, ran the boat today first time in a year. Didnt want to turn over at the lake finally did and had no power. Checked the compression had 0 pounds in the #3 cylinder. The others were strong 110 within 10 pounds of each other.
What the first step pull the head and check cylinder or head gasket or try decarb decarb it and see if the rings free up.
Need help if cant fix it will buy another rig.

You could try to decarb, but don't hold out much hope if it is at zero.
And you run the risk of further damage if you run it.

You could try squirting a little oil in the #3 cylinder and re-checking the compression.

A head gasket is pretty cheap, so I would pull the head and inspect it.

Hey Admiral,
Thanks tried the oil in the cylinder NO CHANGE>
Pulled the head and the gasket is gone around the exhaust side #3 cylinder and the #2 which also had lower compression.
So thats probably the problem. Cylinder wall looked good no scratches rings were sealing like the other cylinders.
BIG Releif.
Ok now the question I cant read the last digit in the model # 1254X7 then maybe a be it got scratched,. the serial # is 2395 which gasket do I get and who do you recommend getting it from.

1254x7a or 1254x7b

Doesn't matter, they both use the same gasket.
matter of fact, all 125 hp from 1984-1988b use the same head gasket.
Part number 27-8246152 from any Mercury dealer, $40.
