1987 evinrude

I have a 1987 evinrude 20hp. It runs terrible at idle to half speed. Half to full throttle it runs fine. I replaced the plugs and put fresh gas in it but did not help.

I'm gonna guess it's the carburetor, either dirty and needing a good overhaul or adjusting. There's been several postings lately about the proper adjustment but that should be in your manual.<br /><br />c/6<br /><br />Hooty

Oldmil..... Describing a problem as "runs terrible" really says nothing, but by the same token could mean anything. What exactly does the engine do?

it misses and shakes like crazy at low speeds. at full speed it seems to smooth out. if i slow down to dock it, it dies. thanks
