So I decided to buy a this old thing. I know it was a good looking little boat in her day, however her day past long ago. 500 bucks got me a 4.3 that runs, an alpha one drive that seems good, and a bunch of rot. I've always been one to dive in head first so that's what I'm doing. I've done lots of reading and watched many hours of video so I kinda have an idea of what I've gotten myself into. Plans are to pull the motor this coming Sunday and then start demo. The floor had a second layer of half inch plywood laid on top of it and was screwed and glued to what was left of the original floor I did go ahead and remove that extra layer today.

I do have a question I'm not finding a good answer to. To cradle or not to cradle. The cap will not be coming off and the trailer has bunks and keel rollers.

Pics always help us to help you. A bunked trailer can be adequate suppor especially since the cap is NOT coming off. Pics will help us to ensure it's OK.

Like previous stated, we love pictures on here to evaluate what you are dealing with. None of us are mind readers. Well,...okay....maybe a few are, but not me. So post those pictures and then we can see what you are seeing and offer the best method for rebuilding your new-to-you-boat. :thumb:

Does it have rollers along the keel area?

You may want to back them off a little. My rollers were indenting the boat, Don't want to put a Hook in it
I could find their locations from the interior after I gutted it.

A Hook refers to an unwanted/ unnecessary curving of the hull.

Also check out the bunks they may need replacement. My bunks fell apart when I lifted the boat off trailer.

I'd for sure recommend adding additional bracing towards the bow of the boat!!
