Leave the dock, comes up on plane and runs great. Stop for an hour and fish. Motor starts right up but RPM will not come up to get on plane again. Bulb a little soft. Pump the bulb up but no change
Any thoughts please.

1987 115HP inline 6. Recomended Fuel hose size.

Suspecting fuel starvation on take off. 5/16 currently fitted. This is a new set up. This motor has not been on this boat until now.

Should be 3/8 id hose. I use a in- line one way check valve between bulb and engine as that eliminates the sometimes iffy bulbs. The next thing I would do is open up the idle screws, one at a time starting with the top carb. Maybe turn it "two hours" at a time. Using the clock as a template. The transition circuit is poor on these engines so the idle screw will let a bit more fuel into the carbs to get her up on a plane.

When you say " RPM will not come up to get on plane again", does the engine stall? Or does it just struggle along?

Thanks for the responses guys. The motor just struggles along and the boat does not fill up with water. Good points. I will make your changes Mr88 and see how it goes.
Thanks again.

Is it getting spark to all the cylinders after the hot soak? Hook up an inductive timing light and check each plug wire. Check all wiring for clean tight connections on coils and switchboxes

Another good source also advised opening the idle needles to make the idle mixture rich as stated by Mr 88. Did this and took her on the pond, Comes up on plane good now. Had to increase the idle rpm to compensate. All is well. Thanks guys.
