I cannot lift the manually lift the shaft of the motor so I can take it to the repair shop. Is there a release lever or something? Can't find the manual.
is it a 115 or a 155 i think 115 as i don't know of a 155. are talking about the tilt t tilt the motor up. 1st must be in neutral or forward it locks in reverse. there may be a tilt lock under the front near the transom mount.
There wasn't a 115 in 87 so we assume you mean a 155 V6. If so the manual release valve is on the starboard side of the Tilt-n-trm unit. Just loosen it, DO NOT unscrew it.
Once you loosen it, you'll be able to manually lift the motor up.
