1986 merc 50 hp motor mounting assembly

Can I change out the motor mounting assembly on a 1986 merc 50 hp? How do i separate the motor from the mount?

On other engines the tilt tube has nuts on either end; yours surely does too. Back off the nuts, drive out the tube and off she comes basically.
