I am trying to reconnect the ignition on a Bayliner Capri with a 50hp Force outboard. The ignition switch is a Standard 2 3/8 Inch Outboard 3 Position 6 Terminal Push to Choke Boat Ignition Switch, and has terminals marked S, A, M, B, M, I.

The wires are red, yellow, green, blue, and white.

What goes where? I've lost the picture I took before disconnecting the ignition.

Need to know what kind of ign.system you have.
MagnaPower CD, battery or magneto.
Pics will show it.

There are six terminals and there should be 6 wires; Also the original ignition sw has "C" instead of "A":
S - starter: Yellow with red stripe or solid Yellow
C - choke: Yellow with black stripe or solid Green
I - Aux power: Red with blue stripe
M1 - (one of the two M's) off position: blue with black stripe or solid Blue
M2 - off position : White or Black with yellow stripe
B - Battery: Red with purple stripe or solid Red

The M1 and M2 wires are interchangeable since all it does is connect the shunt wires for the CD-coil Mods to ground for turning off the engine.

Jiggz that is right, BUT if he has the battery ign.system I-terminal is for ignition. And on those system you do not use the two M-terminals.

Nordin is correct if you do not use the 2nd M terminal I is the ignition and the solid blue wire should then connect to the I terminal. Here's a pic from the manual.
