I did my pressure tester myself as inspired by other forum fellows.
Is there a possibility to make DIY vacuum tester or the only option is the hand vacuum pump with tester ?
There are a few of ways to 'pull a vacuum'.
1. That MityVac.
2. I have an oil suction tank that uses compressed air to 'fill' ;) with a vacuum. I use that to pull the air from a drive, via my Vac/pressure tester.

3. Use one of these water tap vacuum pumps.

4. Run a line from the intake manifold of your (petrol powered) car engine. Running at idle will be plenty enough vacuum to test a drive.

I'm sure there are plenty of other ways of doing it too.

Ooooh, extra points for using your boat motor to pull the vacuum!

Get a 'fuel pump gauge', it has both pressure and vacuum.

This is an Innova 3620. Available from the likes of Summit for about $25

Did you spin the shaft's and wiggle the shifter when you tested? If so you should be fine. Vaccume test only holds about 5lb's
