Last year I bought a 1986 Advantage Magnum 190 cuddy cabin (19ft) and I was wondering if anyine has had experience with them and if there are good place to find parts. It’s hard to find anything when I search “Advantage Magnum 190”. Idk if a boat brand like Thundcraft would have parts that would also fit it. It is an OMC drive (model number 983842 and Serial number: T0439033) with a GM 4.3L V6 cylinder engine. Thank you!

What parts are you looking for?

Engine/drive are specific to OMC.

Everything else was bought off the shelf from 3rd party and installed on the boat -cleats, railings, gauges, etc.

Look no further than iboats as you get a discount when you order.

Hey, I am just wondering where I can find parts build for that brand of boat (Advantage). I searched online and its like the brand of the boat, “Advantage” doesn’t exist lol so, I just would like to know if there are avenues to find things if i need to. But, if you mean it is like bunch of parts for other places I understand. In addition, If anyone has had experience with this boat and such i’d just like to know. I am new to boats. Thank you.

Many, many boat manufacturers have come and gone over the years. Some lasted only a year or two.

But yes....parts are generic, not specific to your boat. Windshield - probably Taylor (Taylor Made). Cleats may have been by Perko. Steering might have been Teleflex. If you have a bilge pump, chances are pretty good it was made by Rule. All off the shelf stuff that "Advantage" just purchased and installed....they didn't "make" any of it.

So if you're looking for something in particular, say a cleat or a new bow light....go through iboats. There are other sources if iboats doesn't carry what you're looking for - Google would be your friend.

some only lasted one boat

as stated, there have been well over 100,000 boat companies that have come and gone in the last 100 years.

the engine/drive combination is OMC. the engine block is a 1986 only V6, however can be replaced with any 1986-1992

The drive is the early Cobra

OMC is out of business, however after market support is there for the basic stuff

the rest of the boat is generic boat stuff.

I am new to boats.
Since you are new to boats

there are no boat level manuals. they never existed. in many cases there is no documentation other than a notebook on the factory floor

The boat hull is either made by the boat company or bought from another boat company.

the boat interior is either made in-house or bought from one of the many boat upholstery shops. if you need interior parts, see your local upholstery shop

boat windshields are generally Taylor Made Systems. https://www.taylormadeproducts.com/windshield-glass-solutions/

if you need a windshield for a 38 year old boat, make sure you are ready for the sticker shock

engines/drives/controls/and sometimes gauges are packaged by the boat engine companies

there are 2 wiring harnesses. the harness between the engine and the controls came from the engine company. the rest of the boat was made in-house or bought from a local harness shop

lights, vents, snaps, cleats, etc. were bought from various suppliers. today they may come from 4 or 5 different sources in a given week.

what specifically are you looking for and we can point you in a direction

I believe I might need a new Stabilizer fin (is that even the proper part name?). I have a picture showing the crack on the left side. I believe its just the top fin where the bend is, not a crack in the outboard.

That's not factory, that's aftermarket. Were all the rage back in the 90's...some people swear by them today. Go by many names....Hydrofoils, Whaletail, stabilizer, etc. Google if you want to see how many different ones are actually out there.

IF it were me, I'd take it off and see how the boat performs without it.
