1985 supra trim tabbs ???

I have replaced rotten wood in tha floor sanded the boat about to paint bottom half and trailer. my question is do i need trim tabbs?? i want to create a big wake so i already paln on putting fat sac in the bow. so do i need a trim tab. it origionaly came with a fixed tab that you could move with up and down manualy with a cresant wrench but i kept it up always anyway because i want a big wake so do i need one at all. my boat is pretty heavy and 20 foot long. i was thinking of adding a hydrolic trim tab. but they aint cheap. thanks
