I have a 1985 sea ray 250 cuddy cabin I am putting together for fishing, it has a square scupper valve at the back of the boat, there is no rubber inside of it to keep waves from coming in, all the scupper valves I see are round. I have looked at pictures of other boats like mine online and I have seen a few of them with the square looking scupper valve. I measure screw hole to screw hole across and down and they are 2 inches by 2 inches. Anybody got any info on these square scupper valves

If you zoom into this picture you can see the starboard scupper valve at the back of the boat

That's the bilge pump drain. There should be a hose connected coming from the bilge pump

AD...gotta disagree. Zoom in on the transom. Right around the corner from the gas fill vent is the bilge outlet (round & white). OP is referring to the square (stainless??) lower down, about what is probably floor height.

To me, and I'm a novice, I'd just replace if necessary with new. Fill the holes with epoxy and drill for new if necessary. Probably needs a check valve installed of some sort, just using some logic here, to keep water from coming back in the boat through that opening.

Yes your correct

Don't really know what it is. Boats to small for a Gen, does it have a toilet? Maybe overboard discharge.

No the deck is designed for the water to run off and through there, should be some sort of check valve in there

Yes sir, it is exactly at deck height, the water runs off the back of the deck and through there, I would like to find a set of original check valves to go in there

Best bet these days is to find something that works as you're talking about a part that's what....almost 40 years old? Granted, simple technology but I wouldn't trust an original part with that age.
