I have a 85 Fourwinns with the 3.0 i/o. It have been working on this for about a year and was just getting it to run perfect. I decided to change the bellows u-joints and gimbal bearing out a few weeks ago. Everything went fine. Took the boat out and it ran great and no water leaking in the boat. Well that all ended last weekend. We decided to take the boat out and I got out to the wake zone and was waiting to pick up the wife and i heard this clang noise and then the engine stopped. Swam the boat up and loaded it and took it home and found that my upper unit locked up. I had a complete stern off a 1984 fourwinns with the same motor and everything and changed it out. Took the boat out the next day and everything was going good til i tried to speed up. The boat will now not rev up in gear. The boat will however rev when not in gear. checked the compression and i am getting 150 psi on all cylinders. I dont know what could have caused it to work one day and not the next. Any suggestions?
