1985 Mariner 175 Carb Issue

Hi,

I have a 6 cyl engine with 3 carbs. when the engine is in neutral it runs excellent I can give full throttle with no issue.

When I am in gear and take off from a cold start or hit the gas to pull out of a dead stop, the engine has no power and most of the time will die, like it is not getting enough gas. I have had someone look at the carbs and said they were fine.

Any ideas.

Your mixture is lean, could be idle adjustment it must be done in the water in gear, the back drag jets could be to small if it idles and only stalls when it's accelerated hard or the float level is low.
