New to me motor. Extremely difficult to raise and lower the engine. I know it has sat for quite a while and the tilt tube has some rust. I will raise and lower the engine another hundred times or so to loosen any rust that may be making the raising and lowering difficult. I have lubed the zirks and have been spraying penetrants on the tilt tube. Just to check and ask a question about the tilt assist cylinder. If it bad will it make raising and lowering the engine tighter ? Or will it just be a dead hydraulic cylinder which has no function making its existance moot . To clarify, If I take it out will the engine just swing up and down on the tilt tube without resistance. If bad does it offer resistance or offer nothing ? Thanks
