Cant seem to get full power out of the engine and compression is fine and there is plenty of spark the bottom two spark plugs have no burn on them they are clean with a little oil on them. Runs fine with the hose on it but when in the water its only running on four cylinders. last week when in the intercoastal i noticed astronger sound in the engine and i gave it power and it ran perfect for about 3 minutes.

Could you have water intrusion into the bottom plugs washing them clean?

Good comments. Two good things to check. Water intrustion in the exhaust chest tends to affect the operation of the lower cylinders first. Here's a third: could be an intermittent spark problem. Take an inductive timing light with you next time out boating. When the engine acts up, put the timing light lead on each of the 6 plugwires. The flashes from the gun will tell you a lot about the quality of spark.

The whitish powder is residue from dried ethanol fuel. You'll want to clean all the carb passages with a gas cleaner-like a Gumout type product. Pull all the jets out and visually inspect them for debris. Agree, do all 3 carbs.
