Might buy a boat that has a 1985 Johnson 70 with bad cylinder, but found what might be a good 1984 seahorse 70 parts motor. Are the parts for these two motors interchageable?

I'm going to try and get a compression reading on the 1984 motor before I purchase. Any advice on what an acceptable compression range would be and where the red flags should start to fly? Anything else I should be looking for on this vintage Johnson 70?
