1984 Mercury Power Trim Wiring Help needed

I have searched and I have been unable to find a thread that can help me but to make a long story short, I may be an idiot. I purchased the motor and the power trim from a kid on craigslist. The motor was checked out by an authorized mechanic. But the kid sold the wiring harness for the power trim after he sold me the trim and I noticed that I needed the wiring. So I bought the three prong wire harness for the trim but now I need to know where things get connected. I am fairly handy in making connections and can trouble shoot but I need help figuring which wires to connect to what. I cannot post pictures i guess, but they are available if requested.

Is this the power trim that has the separate trim pump that mounts in the boat?

If so, if you connect the red wire from the harness to the green wire the trim should go down and red to blue will be up.
That's what the trim switch on the throttle handle does.

Since this is separate I'm thinking this is an outboard. Have a look here

Marc C yes this pump does mount in the boat and is separate from the motor. It does have two rams.

Did you try this.
