Assuming you fuel system and Carbs are OK, It sounds like plugs are bad, get the proper plugs and test it. Faulty leads, loose spark, or even defective plugs can cause this. Also, check your distributor.

Bought new plugs champions UL77v what it calls for and i hooked the choke rod back up.. don't have a distributor i have coil packs on this. some one told me to run a thing of sea foam in it and it will clean it out real good. it's after dark now so in the morning i will pull the cover back off and open the throttle up and make sure it's all working great.. how hard are these to rebuild? when i called the marin shop they want a min of 200.00 dollars for just one carb and there's 2 on this engine and i can buy the kit for 25 dollars so if there not that hard i would do it my self i already had them off once

Rebuilding carbs can be pretty tough if you are inexperienced, like me. I am sure its dilemma free for someone who has done it before - either way, you will save a lot of cash if you do it yourself.

In general terms get a manual, to rebuild the carbs will cost maybe 50 bucks! And as long as you take your time and follow the manual it is fairly easy. I would definetly try to rebuild mine, it is worth the money. You can have it done in an afternoon. Good luck.

thanks you guys i am on my way now to get the kits and try it.. whats the worse that can happen not work lol.. I'll keep you all posted.. so i thought i would be stupid in just try and start it and it fired right up.. i shut it off drove to the state park put it in the water.. fired right up took it for about a 10 min drive around the park ran great.. kinda hesitated a little when i put it under a heavy load but other than that it was nice being on the water i didn't want to come home

Wow i think this whole time it's my coil packs going out of something.. put it all back together and it still missing so i started to pull the plug wires while it was running and when i pulled the top left one it died then i put it back on and started it up again started pulling the rest and nothing no lower rpm or anything

any ideas on this one
