Hello,

I was looking in my owners manual for the proper sparkplug for my outboard. The manual states-QL77JC4. I found a sparkplug#L77JC4. Does it make a difference if the sparkplug used is a QL or L sparkplug? I greatly appreciate any information.

Thanks, Mike

The Q means it has an inductive radio noise suppressor in it. Unless somebody more knowledgeable than me objects, I'd say it makes no difference except for your electronics, like a fish finder.

The recommended plug, key word recommended, is the QL. But as FR said, not a lot of difference other than noise suppresion.

Both types are listed on the BRP parts list so the choce is yours.

Both are also listed in my manual for a 6hp

Gentlemen,

Thank you very much for the fast responses and for clearing things up for me. Now my next question, I was looking through my boat supply box and found a QL plug which I completely forgot about, can that plug be used along WITH an L plug?

Thanks again, Mike

Same heat range. Wouldn't hurt anything. But it is nice to keep things "equal".
