Ok...so after checking out the power pack and pulling those little amphenol plugs the top coil fired when it was plugged in with another wire from power pack. Defective power pack i'm gonna go with.

Found pack on ebay for 55 shipped to me! Thanks for everyones contributions.
Any thoughts??

google..cdi electronics troubleshooting...scroll down and find your engine....the tests listed there will require a dva adapter for your multimeter or a mm capable of reading dva...hope the pp takes care of this for you

one of my motors is a 1983 70hp & its got the same the same ignition system as the 75 hp , i know that there no wires you can unscrew from the power pack , iam referring to the bridge block next to the power pack the coil wires screw onto the bridge block
