Ok I understand the hose clamp keeps everything flush, or centered while snugging the bearing assembly together. NEXT, the exploded diagram shows two items between the drive gear and tapered bearing. They are a shim and a bearing cup. They just look like rings on the diagram. These where not present when I took mine apart. My drive gear sits directly on the tapered bearing. So I'm confused about this and wonder if I need to order these? The gears look perfect, so I'm temped to put it back exactly like it was.
