I recently acquired a 1983 Astroglass 175 bass boat, equipped with a Johnson GT-150V engine.
The previous owner passed away about 10 years ago, so it has been sitting up ever since. It appears to be in good condition. I hooked up a good battery to it and the tilt motor does not move. I am looking for a wiring diagram that will show me how the switches are connected so i can find out what the problem is. I need to be able to lower the motor so i can work on the carburetors. Can anyone suggest where i can find this?

Probably there was never one. With few exceptions most boat builders did not have wiring diagrams. For trouble shooting you have two separate electrical systems. One for the motor and one for all the other things. Wiring diagrams for all major engine makers are available but for the boat you will have to search for "generic boat wiring diagrams". Also find the chart for standard color codes for boat wiring. You may face the problem that on a 38 year old boat you don't know how many people may have worked on it and changed things. Also the marine environment causes a lot of corrosion of wiring and connections. Trouble shooting boat wiring takes some knowledge and experience.

Thanks, that gives me a place to start.

If you need to lower the motor, somewhere down by the tilt/trim motor there should be a "bleeder screw" that will let you lower the motor without using the tilt/trim motor.

Thanks, that let me lower the motor and check out the carbs. Now i need to raise it back up but it looks like the motor is no good. I guess i'll have to get some help to raise it then close the bleeder to hold it up again. Then i can work on the tilt motor

The engine looks OK, but the tilt motor doesn't work. I traced the wires back to a relay. Tried connecting them directly to the battery but nothing happened. Once i get it lifted back up I'll pull the tilt motor and check it out.
