1983 70 HP Won't Start

I am in the process of buying my neighbor's 1987 Rinker with a 1983 70 horse 3 cyl. He has had it for about eight years with no problems. Today, we went to fire it up, does not seem to be any spark at any of the three plugs. What is the next step in troubleshooting. THANKS!

Remove the blk/yellow wire and the mercury switch wire from the switch box and recheck for spark

It turned out to be the neutral safety switch, started up and runs great!<br />Thanks!
