I'll try and keep this short.

Put the engine in the shop to get an estimate to have it fixed and they told me 6k! They didnt go in to much detail as to what was wrong only that I needed a new powerhead. I asked if it was warped, etc and he just told me 2 cylinders were scored.

I know I can get it rebuilt for less than 1/2 that cost. What about buying inserts for the cylinders and new pistons? If anyone has any advice they can offer I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

-Jacob Smith

Without seeing it, there's noway to know if it needs inserts.....the price sounds high but I don't know what all is wrong either.
Can you explain the symptoms before it quit???
Is it siezed, does it turn by hand???
