I have a 1982 7.5 mercury outboard(serial 5938561 - the 7902 carb version) that I recently did a carb overhaul on (soaked it, sprayed it out, new gaskets, float, etc.) I've done this a few times before and have never had a problem. When I start pulling to start, I get excessive fuel spraying out a little brass tube next to the butterfly valve.(see attached picture, I'm pointing to the brass tube in question) I figured it was a gasket that was leaking air ....so I rechecked everything to no success.......Any ideas would be appreciated. It will run roughly for about thirty secs and then quit.
