1982 Evinrude 90HP

I am trying to drop the lower unit on this motor, but cant seem to find where the shift rod is attached. Could someone please help me with this. Thanks in advance

Stand on the starboard side off the motor.----Look in front / below the bottom carburetor from that side.-----You will see a threaded pin.-----Use a 3/8" socket or a hefty screwdriver to take out that pin.----A strong flashlight will help you here.

Try on the powerhead by the carb.

Yup ,under the carb starboard side.I owned one for many years.
